The live-action film Look Back, in theaters nationwide from Friday, September 11, won five Collateral Awards at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, which are Independently awarded by associations and juries.
In addition to the three awards announced recently, Cinema & Arts Award, SIGNIS Award and CinemaSarà Award, Look Back has received the UNIMED Award and Fanheart3 Awards Special Mention, bringing 5 collateral awards and honors in total.
UNIMED Award
The UNIMED Award is a collateral award organized by UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union), a network of universities in the Mediterranean region. An international jury composed of students from UNIMED member universities selects works that embody values such as cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, inclusivity, and freedom of artistic expression.
This film was selected by a unanimous vote from a panel of 35 student jurors out of 21 entries in the main competition.
Fanheart3 Awards Special Mention
The Fanheart3 Awards is a collateral award organized by Fanheart3, an Italian cultural organization established in 2017. Focusing on the connection of films and immersive works with fan communities, the organization selects the winners from a unique perspective, valuing fun culture and potential to expand into new creation.
Look Back received Special Mention.

It was a pleasant journey to Venice.
Although we didn’t win a main award, we received truly enthusiastic responses after the official screening, and I was especially delighted when I touched the passion of the Italian people and media through interviews the following days and beyond.
Winning five collateral awards is something I’ve never experienced before. Two of them were chosen by teenagers. I’m purely happy that young people liked my film. People who interviewed me, whether journalists or critics, told me that they simply personally like the film.
Being at the Venice International Film Festival, where my debut film was premiered, makes me feel I’ve returned to my starting point.
I’d like to cherish all these experiences with the audiences through my film to move forward to the next.
